What is your hometown?

What are you passionate about outside of music?

Just a few: Sandy Pearlman, Mark Needham, Steve Brown (Producer - Wham!, The Cult)

What is a favorite quote that you repeatedly tell students?

Make it Sound Expensive!

What question do you wish students would ask sooner rather than later?

Any questions. The more the better - The sooner the better.

What was the defining moment when you decided to pursue music as a career?

Working in London for a year on a frantic production schedule that forced a different studio environment almost every day.

If you weren't a musician or teacher, what do you think you would be doing now?

The same thing I am now, music and media audio production.

What is your daily practice routine?

Take a few minutes to play around and experiment/explore new technology as often as possible.

If you could play only three composers for the rest of your life, who would they be?

I think Thomas Newman would be one of them.

From a music history perspective, what year and city are most important to you, and why?

Nashville, TN from inception all the way up to present day because it's so rich in so many music and entertainment genres besides Country Music. That is not on many people's radar.

Biography

Marc Senasac brings decades of professional audio experience to the classroom, having spent 18 years at Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) / Sony PlayStation, where he served as Senior Music Engineer, Music Producer, Mixer, and Technical Director. Over that career he was credited on dozens of major AAA titles including landmark franchises such as Uncharted, Infamous, Spider-Man, and The Last of Us. He currently supports emerging audio workflows on contract at Meta Platforms, Inc.

Marc has served on the Recording Academy's San Francisco Chapter board (home of the Grammy Awards). He has advised several college audio and media programs, reflecting a sustained commitment to shaping the next generation of audio professionals. His teaching draws directly on this industry background, giving students a practical, real-world grounding in audio workflows alongside the technical and creative foundations of sound design. He began his studies in Broadcast Communication Arts at San Francisco State University before building a career shaped by hands-on work in interactive and immersive media.
