Visiting and Consultative Lessons
We encourage you to visit our campus. Prospective students find that classroom and rehearsal visits, consultative lessons with faculty and attending one of our performances provide an exciting glimpse into the musical life of the Conservatory.
You are welcome to attend classes and rehearsals during the day of your audition or any day school is in session. In order to plan your visit, please contact the Office of Admission at 800.899.7326.
Click here for information about each of our performance departments. In addition, you will find a list of classes and rehearsals that you may attend during your visit here. Once you have determined the classes that you would like to observe, please contact the Office of Admission so that we may facilitate your visit.
The Conservatory presents over 400 performances each year. We hope you will take advantage of these opportunities during your visit. Most concerts and master classes at the Conservatory are free and open to the public, but some require an advance ticket purchase. Please visit our Calendar for information about upcoming performances.
Although tours are generally available on a drop-in basis, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the year, the Office of Admission HIGHLY RECOMMENDS that you contact us in advance to schedule a specific tour appointment. The school is closed the week between Christmas and New Year's.
We also offer regular tours of our student residence, Golden Gate Hall, every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at noon. Golden Gate Hall is conveniently located two blocks away from the Conservatory and provides dormitory style living for our students.
Tours for large groups are available through the Office of Admission and must be scheduled at least one month in advance.
For a Virtual Tour of our new facility, please click here.
Nearly all Conservatory faculty are available by advance appointment for a private lesson, schedule permitting. Students may either be put in contact with faculty through the Office of Admission or may contact them on their own using email addresses provided at the bottom of faculty biographies, found
here. Members of voice faculty charge $100 per hour per consultative lesson. Members of the faculty in other areas will advise applicants of any lesson fees on a case-by-case basis.
Most concerts and master classes at the Conservatory are free and open to the public, but some do require an advance ticket purchase. Please check the
Calendar prior to making your travel arrangements.
