SAN FRANCISCO CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC NAMES NEW CHAIR AND MEMBERS OF BOARD OF TRUSTEES


Warren R. Hashagen, Jr. has been appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He has served on the Board for fifteen years, nine of the last as Treasurer. Jean Deleage, who has served on the Board since 1990, was appointed the new Treasurer.

“With construction of the new Conservatory at 50 Oak Street well under way, this is a very exciting time in the school's history to be taking on this leadership role. I look forward to the challenge of creating something extraordinary for the Bay Area and shaping the future of music education,“ says Hashagen. Hashagen spent nineteen years at GAP, Inc., including four as Chief Financial Officer.

New appointees to the Board also include Katherine C. Buchanan, who has experience in Development with the American Symphony Orchestra League and the Aspen Music Festival. The Conservatory also welcomes to the Board: Saturnino S. Fanlo, Executive Vice President and Treasurer of Wells Fargo Bank; David T. Hung, M.D., of Redwood City, President and CEO of Medivation Inc; and Lisa S.Miller, of Hillsborough, Chief Executive Officer with Celantra Management Solutions.

The San Francisco Conservatory is one of the leading music schools in the world. Each year, the Conservatory serves more than 1,300 students through its Collegiate, Preparatory and Adult Extension divisions and its summer programs. Its students and faculty also present more than 1,600 public performances -- most of them free -- to more than 24,000 Bay Area residents and visitors annually. Construction on its new $80 million teaching, performance, rehearsal and practice facility has begun in San Francisco's Civic Center that will essentially double the size from its current facility in the Sunset District.
