Private Lessons
Individual Instruction is offered on all orchestral instruments as well as piano, organ, harpsichord, harp, guitar and voice, regardless of a student's musical background or artistic goal. Students enrolled in private lessons have the opportunity to perform in the Recital Hall and in master classes with well-known musicians. Applicants must audition for private lessons. Auditions are 10 minutes long, and applicants will be asked to perform two contrasting works. Students must be prepared to commit to a lesson package of 8, 12 or 16 lessons a semester.

To schedule an audition, please fill out and submit the Registration Form  with a nonrefundable $25 application fee. Once the form is received, you will be contacted to schedule an audition time.

Tuition and Fees
The Conservatory strives to maintain reasonable tuition fees. Tuition for private lessons (1 hour once a week for 16 weeks) is $1,625 per semester. Select faculty members require different tuition rates. Please contact the Adult Extension office for more information. Payment must be received before the start of lessons. If unable to complete tuition payment before lessons begin, you may arrange a deferred payment plan by contacting the Adult Extension Office at 415-503-6283.

Refunds
Students who drop a class must do so in writing before the second meeting in order to receive a refund of the class tuition less the $25 registration fee and a $10 drop fee. No refunds will be made after the second class meeting. If a class is cancelled students will receive a full refund.

Library Policy
A $25 refundable library deposit is required of all new students. Once tuition fees have been paid, a student ID card with a library barcode will be issued

Make-Up Policy
