Peter Wahrhaftig
tuba
Peter Wahrhaftig plays principal tuba with the Sun Valley Summer Symphony, and is a member of the Bay Brass. He performs frequently with the San Francisco Symphony, Opera, and Ballet Orchestras, the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, and numerous other Bay Area ensembles. He studied with Arnold Jacobs at Northwestern University, where he earned his B.M., and also with Floyd Cooley. Mr. Wahrhaftig has performed with many other groups including the Israel Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony, the St. Louis Symphony, the Ringling Brothers-Barnum and Bailey Circus, the Spoleto Festival Orchestra and Metallica. Additionally, he has appeared on many recordings and movie soundtracks. When not behind his tuba, Mr. Wahrhaftig enjoys exploring the ample offerings of Bay Area hiking trails.
