Assistant principal and third horn of the San Francisco Symphony, Bruce Roberts joined the Symphony in 1988. He spends his summers with the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra. He was a founding member of the Mexico City Philharmonic and subsequently performed with the Utah Symphony for seven years. He was a featured recitalist at the 1987 International Horn Society Convention. Mr. Roberts attended California State University at Northridge and California Institute of the Arts. He studied with Ralph Pyle, Lawrence Christianson, Fred Fox and Wendell Hoss. He is a former horn instructor at the University of Utah, where he was a member of the faculty brass and woodwind quintets. He is
currently acting associate principal horn of the San Francisco Symphony.
