Bassoon

Currently principal bassoon and a regular soloist with the San Francisco Symphony, Stephen Paulson has served as co-principal bassoon of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and principal bassoon of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Paulson studied bassoon with K. David Van Hoesen and composition with Samuel Adler at the Eastman School of Music. A conductor as well as a bassoonist, Paulson has been music director of Symphony Parnassus since 1998.
