Betsy Marvit studied composition with Elinor Armer and David Garner at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She also holds a B.S. from Caltech and a "Certificat Practique" from the Sorbonne. Betsy conducts for the Crowden Community Music Center in Berkeley, where she also gives instrumental lessons. She has been a musicianship teacher for the San Francisco Boys' Chorus since 1998, and now does some conducting there as well. When she isn't teaching, doing music, or taking care of her daughter, Betsy can be found at the dojo.
