Composition
San Francisco is a nexus for New Music. The City is often described as a "composer's city" with many opportunities to hear and play world premieres, work with visiting composers and shape the future of new music. The composition program rarely exceeds 20, with five faculty members, which means that all students work closely with faculty, fellow students and visiting artists.
The composition faculty is always pleased to talk with prospective students and would be happy to answer any specific questions you have about the program. Visiting prospective students can also arrange a consultative lesson with our faculty.
