The Conservatory application consists of:
Audition: in San Francisco, at a regional site or by Final recording.
Prescreen recording required in chamber music, composition, technology and applied composition, conducting, piano and voice. Submit here.
Two letters of recommendation (uploaded to your applicant record by the recommender)
Academic transcripts (please upload these records to your online application)
English language proficiency requirement (required of non-native English speakers) Please note that all applicants with an English language requirement must submit a TOEFL score, or proof of registration, by the December 1st deadline in order to be scheduled for an audition. The score does not need to be a passing score at the time of application. Applicants may also choose to submit an IELTS score or an ELS Language Center score. This requirement may be waived by permission of the Office of Admission if there is intent to enroll in ELS Language Centers.
We are accepting applications for the spring semester in the following instrument areas: composition, double bass, viola, violin and voice. Applications for spring are due November 1st.
Double Bass, Viola and Violin spring applicants: please upload an audio-visual recording with your application that follows the final audition guidelines for your degree. Please note that not all faculty studios are accepting applicants for spring. For further information on spring studio availabilty, please email the director of admission at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Voice and Composition spring applicants: please upload a prescreen recording by November 1st in order to be considered for a live audition in late November/early December.
